Creating better predictors for product succes

Eurosense 2024 has come to an end. Our employees, Alard, Wim, and Akshay, represented Essensor and attended Eurosense from September 8 to 11.

At this event, Essensor presented its latest research, ‘Creating Better Predictors for Product Success’, conducted by Akshay. Akshay started his journey at Essensor as an intern, and after his internship, he was able to complete his research at the company.

With this research, Essensor aims to explore how sensory market research can be conducted in the most reliable manner to ensure we continue to guarantee our quality. Machine learning can be employed to precisely determine how important sensory attributes are in relation to the overall judgment of a product.

The methodology we developed can be used to test and compare products with our database. This approach takes into account variables that might be overlooked with a simple comparison of overall judgments. We demonstrate how supervised machine learning and explainable AI can be leveraged to improve the interpretation of monadic tests.
