Acquisition of OP&P by Essensor

At the beginning of 2018, Essensor from Ede acquired OP&P Product Research from Utrecht.

After the acquisition, this combination of companies claims market leadership in the Netherlands within the sensory market research domain. With more than 50 years of experience, Essensor and OP&P together form the authority in the Netherlands.

In the specialized research centers in the Randstad (Utrecht) and outside the Randstad (Ede), the products are tested daily by groups of unique consumers from its database of over 10,000 registered respondents.

Wim Vaessen, founder and owner of Essensor: “Together with OP&P, Essensor has always made a strong effort to put sensory market research on the map in the Netherlands. After the death of Pieter Punter (founder of OP&P) I started a conversation with Aimée Oliemans (founder of OP&P and life partner of Pieter Punter).

Aimée Oliemans: “Both companies have a similar DNA and fit well together. I was therefore pleased with Essensor’s interest in OP&P and I am fully confident that Pieter’s ideas are in good hands with Wim and his team”.

We will be working hard on the integration in the coming months. Both locations (Utrecht and Ede) and both brands will be retained for the Dutch market. The management is now formed by the new owners Wim Vaessen (research) and Jan Willem Steunenberg (commerce). Aimée Oliemans will remain involved as an advisor for the next year and a half.
